Incredible Old collection hand made Larimar pendant. Beautiful blues and pattern with an intricate sterling silver set. Named in 1974 by local discoverer Miguel Méndez, combining his daughter's name (Larissa) with the Spanish word for sea (mar).

Larimar is a rare blue variety of the silicate mineral pectolite found exclusively in the Dominican Republic. Location: Found only in the Barahona province of the Dominican Republic. Formation: Formed within volcanic cavities when hot, mineral-rich fluids crystallized inside basalt lava. Color: Its unique white-to-blue ocean appearance comes from copper substituting for calcium in the mineral structure.
