Collector notes
Wiggins Fork Agate Limb Casts are found at about the 9,000 ft. level in the mountains north of Dubois, Wyoming, specifically Wiggins Creek. These are formed when wood, often a limb, is buried and then the organic matter is replaced by agate, creating a stone replica of the original wood structure. The agate can be various types, including hollow crystal lined, iris, green moss, water-level banded, tube, and amethyst lined.
